Found yourself in a pickle with your web company?
We're an advocate for people having good service and access to the things they need from their web development company. Granted there are rules and contracts, but if you tried to move your domain or site and got told 'no' (or you just didn't get a response) then you are reading the right page.
Enter: ReHosting®
ReHosting is a service offered by us at Liquidweb, and it's a little bit like house relocation. We take a good look around your site, see what it needs, and then pick it up and shift it for you. We even stick around to make sure it works properly at the other end - no leaky-website syndrome here!
Depending on your situation there are a number of things that we can do, so we like to hear what you have to say, and find out your reasons for shifting your site.
If you're convinced already, use the form at the bottom of the page to tell us your story, or read on to get a better feel for what we can do.
Some common reasons to use ReHosting may include:
- Your home-grown hosting solution isn't cutting your exceptional bandwidth usage
- Your web developer has buggered off to Botswana with all your passwords leaving you in the dust
- Long wait times or poor service getting your site updated or maintained
- A large amount of down time, slow response time, or a general lack of functionality
- You think Liquidweb is far cooler than [insert your host name here] and just have to get on board
Whatever the reason, we're interested to hear from you because there are plenty of things we can do to help - often even without your passwords.
Some of the resolutions may include:
- Download your existing site (either using an access method like FTP, or by just ripping it off the 'net) and find a nice new home for it here
- Take the design and content from your existing site and wrap it around a nice functional content management system so you can update it yourself from now on
- Take a bundled version of your site from a backup, or from your previous web developer, and install it on one of our servers
- Helping approach the domain registrar to get your domain back, or helping you convince your previous web host to let go of the site.
The options are not limited there, it all depends on your unique situation and the way your site has been built (if at all) or and what problems you are experiencing.
What does it cost?
Depending on your situation and what your site does, the costs can vary widely. Essentially you are paying for our time to help solve your problem, and for any stuff we sell you to solve it. It can be a little vague, so we keep our clients well informed before any costs are incurred, and we won't charge you for the first email :)
